CNA/Patient Care Technician
The Objective of the CNA/Patient Care
Technician Program is to train students to acquire
satisfactory skills and demonstrate competence in
a variety of Nursing Assistant and Home Health
Aide procedures and laboratory techniques. The
procedures and lab techniques include but are not
limited to the Study and Practices of Human Needs
and Communications, Infection Control and Safety
Measures, Body Mechanics, Vital Signs, Patient
Care, Special Care, Body Systems and the Expanded
Role of the Nursing Assistant/Home Health Aide.
Upon satisfactory completion of the
training, students will be qualified to assume
entry-level positions in Hospital Chronic Care
settings and Home Health Aide Agencies. Students
will sit for the Georgia Department of Human
Resources State Examinations. The program consists
of various units of instruction, Laboratory
Experience, Lecture, Clinical and Externship.
Graduates will receive a Certificate upon
completion and be registered with the State as a
Certified Nursing Assistant. |
